This garden had become overgrown over the years, with more and more of the lawn becoming lost and the borders growing deeper and deeper. We spent a while here initially pruning shrubs and delving into the borders to see what plants can be kept and what needed to go. Spending this time in the garden is important for getting to know it, the soil, and the clients really well.

The brief was:

• a wildlife and pollinator friendly garden, with a pond, plants for bees and pollinators
• areas with a ‘wild’ feel,
• a new shed
• a place for growing fruit and veg
• whilst being able to be maintained and enjoyed by the clients in their retirement.
